Countryside tour to the historic City of Blankenberg and Abbey St. Michael at Siegburg

Discover a different kind of Germany beyond Cologne’s city limits. The scenic Sieg River valley and the Seven Mountain area.

Blankenberg with its well preserved half timbered houses, old city walls and 700 years old church is the smallest city in Germany. City rights were a special grant extended to communities in medieval times.

High above the county seat of Siegburg (nice market place and good shopping) lies the 11th century abbey St. Michael, still a monastery of the Benedictines.

If you prefer, there are other points of interest in the area. Such the old castle Godesburg along the Rhine in Bonn or the museum of German History or the birthplace-house of Ludwig van Beethoven, also in Bonn.
